Understanding the spectrum of products Dream11 was building in the B2B space, the similarities & differences, and the connections.

Dream11 B2B division was planning to create 10+ products across a wide spectrum of applications ranging from machine learning to data acquisition & processing.
This was being done primarily to enable internal teams to function effectively and efficiently since market solutions did not meet our needs of SCALE, FEATURES, and SECURITY.
With all these diverse products planned and multiple products being built vertically at once, there was currently no single source of truth to understand:
A working prototype to easily navigate through the major verticals.
It started with acquiring a high-level understanding of all products under the umbrella, especially on the verticals, I didn’t work on.
I met with different product managers & understood the different products they were working on.
I carried out secondary research to then see the current visualisations and understand the products in more depth.
To my surprise, there was 0 single representation of a holistic platform that includes all verticals (Data acquisition, Data management, ML/AI, Developer platform)
I also created a mind map based on my current understanding of all the products.
With so many complexities and unknowns lying around to solve and be answered, I thought to come up with an architecture and then get it validated and corrected with everyone around.
I did it on a whiteboard to easily iterate.
I called almost all product managers to get their sections validated. After that, it was time to understand the connections between different verticals and gain more clarity on the overall system architecture.
I then set up a couple of sessions with the director of Data Engineering who helped me correct all the nuances of it and explained the interconnectedness of the entire architecture.
He then validated my final digital iteration and it was time for…
I collaborated with another designer to fasten the process for designing the final architecture/p>
A working prototype to easily navigate through the major verticals was also created.
While the project currently had no measurable KPIs, it was intended to bring more clarity for everyone from PMs to designers about the suite we are building.
It received amazing feedback and appreciation from various product and tech leads ❤️
We though plan to measure metrics like Total Link Clicks and Total time spent when we release this architecture to customers and users
While this architecture is just the tip of the iceberg, a micro-level architecture that double downs on the output of each product is also being envisioned to be created in the future to bring better clarity to the products.
The project is also listed under items to pick (priority: low) and transform the prototype into an actual platform where you can browse through the architecture with detailed use cases for each product included.
Feel free to reach out for collaborations, coffee or just a friendly hello!
